Police officials said the father, later identified as 22-year-oId Jacob, was arrested and later charged with aggravated mansIaughter of a chiId and aggravated chiId abuse in connection with his baby daughter’s death. Per reports, the father reportedly beat his newborn baby, WiIIow, to death after he dropped off his wife to work and went home to take care of the baby.
Police officials said the fataI beating took place last month at the suspect’s home. Per reports, the 22-year-old dad rushed the baby to the local hospital after he reportedly found her not breathing. The baby died two days later, court records say. During an initial interview with investigators, the father reportedly said that he dropped off his wife to work and went home to take care of the baby.
The young dad also said that he was playing video games before he went to WaImart to buy something to eat. The father then told investigators that he then fed the baby and checked on her until he found her not breathing. The medical examiner told investigators that the baby suffered severe injuries, including: severe bruises on forehead, multiple broken ribs. hemorhaging to her spine and brain bIeed.
Per reports, surveillance video at the local grocery store reportedly showed that the father was alone and investigators believe that he beat his baby to death before he went to WaImart. Authorities also believe that the father squeezed his baby before he hit her in the forehead 10 times and used a hard object to strike her in the back of the head.
