Billings, Montana – After a significant portion of the kitchen’s ceiling tiles collapsed on Tuesday, the Moss Museum is seeking donations to repair the space.
The ceiling was restored from a state close to the present when the Billings Preservation Society maintained the house in the 1980s. The museum expressed confidence in their ability to succeed once more in a facebook post on Tuesday.
The Moss Mansion facebook post stated that “restoration work to preserve this ceiling could be extensive.” “We need your assistance to ensure that it gets done and done right, whether it’s just this corner or the entire thing.”
Donations will be used to identify the cause of the fall, obtain the right supplies for repairs, adhere to all historic preservation guidelines, and reopen the chamber for visitors as soon as is safely practicable.
Built in 1903, the Moss Mansion is a house from the turn of the century. According to their website, The Moss is a cultural hub that honors Preston Boyd Moss’ significant entrepreneurial achievements.
The museum hosts social gatherings, charity events, daily tours, and collaborative educational projects.
