Missoula, MT – The Missoula Police Department celebrated the graduation of its newest officers from the Montana Law Enforcement Academy, marking the beginning of their careers serving the Missoula community.
Department officials said completing the academy represents months of hard work, dedication and perseverance, preparing the graduates for the responsibilities of law enforcement. The newly sworn officers are now set to begin serving residents as members of the Missoula Police Department.
Two graduates also received special recognition for their achievements during academy training.
Officer Morales-Safah earned the Staff Choice Award, an honour presented to a graduate who gained the respect and confidence of academy staff throughout the training programme. Officer Janacaro received the Physical Fitness Award in recognition of exceptional physical performance and a strong commitment to fitness.
The department congratulated all of the graduates on reaching the important milestone and expressed confidence in their future success as they begin serving the community.
Law enforcement academies provide recruits with extensive instruction in criminal law, emergency response, defensive tactics, firearms training, ethics and community policing, equipping new officers with the skills needed before they begin field training and active duty. Missoula Police officials said they were proud to welcome the graduates to the department and looked forward to their contributions to public safety.
