Billings, Montana – Yellowstone County reported its 276th coronavirus related death on Friday.

According to the county’s public health agency, a 40-years-old woman died in a Billings hospital on Thursday.

RiverStone Health officials say the woman had underlying health conditions and was not vaccinated against the virus as well.

“My heart goes out to this woman’s friends and family,” Yellowstone County health officer and president and CEO of RiverStone Health, John Felton said in a statement.

The Covid-19 virus is still circulating in our community at the start of the 4th of July weekend.

“I encourage everyone to take precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The most effective step we can take is to get vaccinated. Safe, effective vaccines are readily available for everyone age 12 and older,” said Felton.

441 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in Yellowstone County during the month of June. 52 of them were hospitalized and 6 died.

Covid-19 vaccines are offered at many medical clinics and local pharmacies. One of them is RiverStone Health. It offers the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine and the two-dose Pfizer vaccine at their free walk-in vaccination clinics:

  • Friday, July 9 – RiverStone Health (four-story building) at 123 S. 27th St., 8 a.m. to noon.
  • Friday, July 30 – RiverStone Health (four-story building) 8 a.m. to noon.

Vaccination consent form signed by a parent or guardian is asked from people under the age of 18. Consent forms can be found at covid.riverstonehealth.org under “vaccinations” and at the clinics
