Missoula, MT – Authorities have recovered the body of 39-year-old Megan Babbitts, who had been reported missing earlier this week. The Mineral County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Babbitts’ body was discovered in the Clark Fork River near the Quartz Rest Area on Friday, April 25.
Babbitts was last seen at her residence in Missoula around 6 a.m. that same morning. Her vehicle was later located near the Quartz Rest Area, prompting an extensive search in the area. Despite efforts by law enforcement to locate her, the search ended with the discovery of her body on Friday afternoon.
The body was transported to the Montana State Crime Lab in Missoula, where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. At this time, authorities are withholding further details pending the results of the autopsy and an ongoing investigation.
