Heart Health Awareness Spotlighted at Providence St. Patrick Hospital’s 2025 Heart Expo

Missoula, MT — The 2025 Heart Expo is set to take place Saturday at Providence St. Patrick Hospital, offering an opportunity for the local community to prioritize their heart health. The event, which runs from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., will be held on the first floor of the Broadway Building Conference Center and is open to individuals of all ages.

According to Robin Schmitt, executive assistant at St. Patrick Hospital, heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the United States, making events like the Heart Expo crucial in spreading awareness. “Heart health is a number one killer in the nation, and it’s important that we pay attention to what’s going on and get ahead of it before it gets ahead of us,” Schmitt said.

The Heart Expo provides an affordable and accessible opportunity for attendees to get their bloodwork done at a significantly reduced cost. The event also fosters a sense of camaraderie within the community, bringing people together in the fight against heart disease.

In addition to basic health screenings, the event will feature a range of specialists offering consultations and answering questions. Free lectures will also be available to attendees, providing valuable information on heart health and preventive measures.

One notable aspect of the Heart Expo is its inclusivity. Schmitt emphasized that no medical insurance is necessary for participants to receive services. “Even if there was a young child who needed this type of work, as long as their parents are with them, they could come in and have it done,” Schmitt explained. Payment is accepted via cash or checks only.

Over the years, the event has attracted as many as 400 attendees, underscoring the growing importance of heart health education in the community. This year’s Heart Expo is expected to continue this trend, offering both screenings and educational opportunities for people seeking to take charge of their heart health.

The event offers an excellent opportunity for individuals to get informed, ask questions, and take the first step toward maintaining a healthy heart. With the support of medical professionals and specialists, attendees will leave with valuable knowledge to help improve their long-term health.

For those interested in attending, the Heart Expo will be held at 7 a.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2025, at Providence St. Patrick Hospital’s Broadway Building Conference Center.
