Snowmobiler Rescued After Crash Near West Yellowstone

 

WEST YELLOWSTONE, Mont. — A snowmobiler was rescued after crashing into a tree on January 17, 2025, on the Two Top Forest Service Trail, located 4.5 miles west of West Yellowstone. The incident occurred around 9:13 a.m., prompting a swift response from local rescue teams.

Emergency crews utilized a snowmobile-towed ambulance to transport the injured rider from the scene of the accident. The patient was then transferred to an ambulance from the Hebgen Basin Rural Fire District for further assessment before being transported to Bozeman Health Big Sky Medical Center for treatment of the injuries.

Gallatin County Sheriff Dan Springer expressed gratitude for the quick and efficient response of the rescue teams, acknowledging their efforts in safely retrieving the injured snowmobiler.
