Missoula, Montana – Missoula’s Pride Month continued with some unplanned activities on Saturday.
Members and supporters of the LGBTQ+ community gathered at the Union Club Bar & Grill in downtown Missoula for a small parade.
The small group chanted and waved flags while walking on the sidewalks of Higgins Avenue.
The march ended with activities at the Union, including an art gallery and market. At the free celebration, sexual health kits were also distributed.
“I feel it’s really important for queer people to be seen, especially in these public spaces. Even if we do happen to make other people a little uncomfortable, that should be good because we have a right to be here, and we’ve been pushed out of our spaces for so long,” said participant Zachary Michael.
The celebration continued with an open mic and local band performances through Saturday evening.
