Bozeman, Montana – A special planned burn was carried out in the Story Hills in East Bozeman by volunteers from Twisted Tree Fire and Forestry and Firebreaks Management.
The burn had a heart-shaped form to it. With the owner’s consent, the image was made on private property.
To support the medical staff at Bozeman Health during the height of the Covid-19 outbreak and lockdown, the heart travels back to 2020.
Cheatgrass is encouraged to grow by the site preparation and fertilizer utilized.
The deer in the area are encouraged to graze because the burning eliminates the duff and cheatgrass seeds that cause it to become green more quickly. Patients and staff at Bozeman Health, who can see the heart from windows facing the Bridgers, were pleased with it. Staff members even had shirts made with a heart drawn on the Story Hills.
