Glacier National Park has initiated a search for a missing hiker

West Glacier, Montana – In Glacier National Park, crews are looking for a 19-year-old guy who has been missing since Friday.

On Sunday, the man’s car was discovered at the Huckleberry Trail’s beginning.

The man was believed to have started his hike around noon on the day he was last heard from, which was Friday afternoon.

On Sunday, Rangers received a warning that he was running late.

According to the description, the man is Caucasian, has short brown hair, and brown eyes. He is roughly 210 pounds and 5’11” tall.

He could be sporting either black and red or blue and yellow sneakers along with a gray and black Columbia rain jacket.

“Rangers conducted a hasty search Sunday afternoon,” a news release states.

On Monday morning, a larger search crew of roughly 30 people started looking.

The search is being conducted by park rangers, the U.S. Border Patrol, the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office, and local search dogs.

The announcement indicates that Two Bear Air will fly once more when the weather is cooperative after its Sunday night flight.

On Monday morning it was raining, cloudy, and foggy at the park.

Additionally, according to park officials, the Huckleberry Trail’s top portion is covered with snow at higher altitudes, creating winter-like conditions.

The search is still going on, thus Huckleberry Trail is closed.

Call the Glacier National Park tip line at 406-888-7077 if you have any information or noticed someone who fits the aforementioned description while you were nearby.

The man’s identity has not been made public.
