Fire causes significant damage to an apartment building in Billings Heights, one person seriously injured

Billings, Montana – Fire crews of Billings extinguished a fire at 50 Miners Place in the Heights on Monday.

They arrived at the scene around 8:15 a.m.

The fire caused significant damage to the fourplex apartment building. Damage is estimated at $750,000.

One person was injured during the fire while trying to rescue occupant inside the apartment. The individual was taken for treatment to a local hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Improperly discarded smoking materials on the back deck caused the fire.
