Billings, Montana – A video of a Billings mail carrier reportedly pepper-spraying a dog on the South Side appeared online, leading to his termination from the U.S. Postal Service and the filing of a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct against him.
On Thursday morning, Frank Hoon Park made his first appearance in Billings Municipal Court.
On Friday, not much was known about the charges.
On February 4, a nearby security camera saw a mailman crossing the roadway, presumably out of the way, to pepper spray the dog, who was behind a fence.
This Monday, a spokesman for the U.S. Postal Service confirmed that Park is no longer employed there but would not say if he was terminated.
The dog’s owner, Katie Guzman, said that Sunka, a 2-year-old canine, is doing well. She continued by saying she hoped the incident will prevent more canines from being sprayed.”I’m just happy that they are actually doing something about it. To a lot of people, their pets are family and that’s our little girl, you know? And my kids love her, and I am just really happy that they’re pursuing it,” she said.
