BUTTE, Mont. — Gordon Duane Ballensky, a man already convicted of raping a 12-year-old girl, is now facing new charges related to child pornography.
Ballensky appeared in district court Thursday morning and entered not guilty pleas to six felony counts of sexual abuse of children.
The new charges stem from an investigation that began in November 2019, the same month the rape occurred.
According to court documents, law enforcement discovered that Ballensky was in possession of multiple pieces of media—both visual and print—along with electronic communications, in which children were depicted in sexual acts.
In September 2024, Ballensky was convicted by a jury of sexual intercourse without consent after being found guilty of raping a 12-year-old girl. He was also convicted of tampering with evidence in the case. Ballensky is currently awaiting sentencing for the rape conviction.
With the additional charges now pending, he faces even more serious legal consequences.
The case has drawn attention in Butte as local authorities continue to investigate the disturbing allegations.
