Billings, Montana – Tens of thousands of participants wearing the distinctively designed Montana Women’s Run t-shirts have flooded the streets of downtown Billings during the course of the event’s 42-year history. Downtown Billings will once more be a sea of women wearing jewel-toned purple shirts in the year 2023.
The artwork for this year portrays a female/butterfly in flight and a Bitterroot flower. According to Jim Heins, a graphic designer in Billings, the woman/butterfly in flight reflects the Women’s Run event’s nature, and the butterfly stands for springtime, transformation, life, and hope. The Women’s Run logo always features the Bitterroot flower, and curved lettering and motion lines give the design a sense of movement and energy.
The 42nd annual run’s registration is currently available. On May 13, 2023, the run will begin at 8 a.m. in the heart of Billings. The event’s proceeds go to Billings charities that support the well-being and health of women.
200 people registered for the first Montana Women’s Run in 1982, and over 4,600 women participated virtually in it last year. The race is now regarded as one of the largest all-events for women in the nation and the largest running event for women in the state of Montana. The Montana Women’s Run has given more than $1,637,500 to regional groups that support the fitness and health of women and children thus far. The Billings Clinic, ExxonMobil, First Interstate Bank, Graphic Imprints, The Planet 106.7, and KTVQ are the primary sponsors of the 2022 Montana Women’s Run.
