Billings, Montana – On Friday, November 4 from 3-6 p.m. in the College of Education Room 122, the Montana Center for Inclusive Education (MCIE) at Montana State University Billings will commemorate its 75th birthday. The public is welcome to the event.
The MCIE provides opportunities for educators and other direct service providers to continue their professional development in order to foster a culture that is completely inclusive, values diversity and serves Montana’s diverse population.
The MCIE has been assisting the Montana handicap community for 75 years as of this celebration. Tom Manthey, Ph.D., the director of MCIE, asserts that MCIE values its employees above all else.
“First and foremost, we serve children and adults with disabilities, their families, and the professionals that work with them.”
Tina Hoagland, assistant director of the MCIE, said the MCIE has been a leader in Montana’s disability community since their opening in 1947. “While this is a milestone anniversary, we plan to continue to be innovative in the field for the foreseeable future,” said Hoagland.
MSUB Provost Eskandari will speak during the Diamond Jubilee celebration in addition to live music and refreshments.
