According to Battalion Chief Jeff Kroll, crews were dispatched at approximately 4:45 p.m. on May 5, 2026. Engine 121 arrived first on scene and observed light smoke coming from the rear of the structure.

Firefighters forced entry through the front door and began an interior fire attack along with a primary search of the building.

Officials said crews encountered heavy smoke conditions inside the structure, with visibility reduced to about two feet off the floor, though heat levels remained minimal at the time of entry.
