Firefighters respond to apartment fire on Grant Street in Missoula

Missoula, MT – Missoula firefighters responded to a structure fire at an apartment building on Grant Street after reports of smoke coming from an apartment door.

According to the City of Missoula Fire Department, crews were dispatched around 9:10 a.m. on January 9 to the 1600 block of Grant Street.

When firefighters arrived, officers with the Missoula Police Department were already on scene and reported that the apartment door was hot to the touch.

Fire officials said Engine 121 arrived first and found a two-story apartment building with light smoke visible. Firefighters immediately began fire attack operations.

Engine 131 was directed to proceed into the scene to assist, and a nearby fire hydrant was located and secured.

The fire department has not released information on injuries, damage estimates, or the cause of the fire. Additional details were not immediately available.
