Missoula, MT – Yellow Bay State Park, located between Bigfork and Polson, will close to the public starting Monday, March 17, for a series of upgrades aimed at improving the park’s facilities. The Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) agency has awarded a construction contract that will enhance the park’s infrastructure and accessibility.
The planned upgrades include paving roads throughout the 15-acre park, relocating campsites, installing a new latrine, and adding an adaptive kayak launching device at the park’s boat ramp. These improvements are designed to create a more enjoyable and accessible experience for visitors.
Due to safety concerns during construction, the park, including the boat ramp, will be fully closed for the duration of the project. The closure is expected to last until July 1, when the upgrades are slated for completion.
This closure marks a significant step toward enhancing the overall visitor experience at Yellow Bay State Park. Once the improvements are completed, the park will offer upgraded facilities and better accessibility for all visitors, including those with disabilities.
For those planning to visit the area during the closure, alternative recreational options are available nearby.
