Missoula Man Arrested After Warrant and Drug Discovery

Missoula, MT – A Missoula man was arrested on outstanding warrants and drug charges after being located by law enforcement at a local gas station.

According to the Missoula County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of an individual with an active arrest warrant at a gas station on the 8700 block of US-93. The caller identified the individual as 52-year-old Neil Cyganowski. Deputies arrived on the scene and found Cyganowski sitting in a green Ford Taurus, which matched the vehicle description provided.

Upon making contact with Cyganowski, deputies confirmed his identity. After informing him that he was under arrest for the active warrant, law enforcement asked Cyganowski to step out of the car. During a search incident to the arrest, Cyganowski reportedly informed deputies that he was in possession of a “crack pipe.”

The deputy conducted a search and recovered a crack pipe, as well as a small plastic container containing a white crystalline substance, which is suspected to be drugs. The substance will likely be tested to determine its exact nature.

Cyganowski was taken into custody without further incident. He now faces charges related to the drugs found on his person, in addition to the active warrant that led to his arrest. The Missoula County Sheriff’s Office did not release further details on the warrant or the drug charges as of press time.

The investigation is ongoing.
