Helena Pedestrian Struck by Truck, Life-Flighted to Billings for Medical Care

Helena, MT – A Helena man was seriously injured after being struck by a truck near the State Capitol on Wednesday morning. Denver Henderson, a representative with the American Cancer Society, was hit while crossing at the intersection of Montana Avenue and 5th Street around 7:20 a.m.

Henderson sustained multiple serious injuries, including a broken pelvis, broken ribs, and a collapsed lung. He was quickly transported by helicopter to Billings, where he is receiving treatment at a Level 1 Trauma Center.

According to a GoFundMe page set up to support Henderson’s recovery, his condition is stable despite the severity of his injuries. “While his injuries are serious, he is alert and his vitals are good,” the page states. Henderson’s family and friends are rallying behind him as he begins the long recovery process.

The 47-year-old had been scheduled to testify before the Legislature and speak at a rally advocating for Medicaid expansion, highlighting his involvement in critical community causes.

A GoFundMe campaign has been created to help Henderson and his family with medical expenses and living costs during this difficult time. Supporters have been encouraged to donate as Henderson focuses on his recovery.

As authorities continue to investigate the accident, the community remains hopeful for Henderson’s full recovery.
