According to the court documents, the 50-year-old dad, later identified as Curtis, was sentenced to 50 years in prison after he tried to p0ison his newborn baby daughter. Prosecutors said the defendant will have to serve 40 years behind bars as part of his 50 year sentencing.
In 2020, the newborn baby was rushed to the hospital after becoming critically ill. The hospital staff suspected poisoning and contacted authorities. During an interview with investigators, the baby’s dad reportedly admitted to putting antlfreeze in the breastmiIk because he didn’t want to pay child support.
Authorities later revealed that the baby’s mom, who was not identified, and Curtis were in a relationship when she got pregnant. The defendant then asked the woman to have an abortion when she became pregnant with his chiId. The woman refused and decided to give birth to the baby.
Shortly after giving birth, the baby’s mom asked Curtis to take breastmiIk for their baby to the baby’s grandma, who was taking care of the baby. Prosecutors claim that this is when Curtis added the vehicle additive in the milk and tried to kiII his newborn baby daughter. Luckily, the baby survived, recovered and is doing alright.
