Police officials said the 24-year-old boyfriend, later identified as Sergio, was arrested and later charged with murder and assauIt upon a child under eight after he reportedly murdered his girIfriend’s 3-year-old child while she was in the same room. Per reports, the suspect reportedly shot the 3-year-old boy, lvan, because his mom would not confess and say ‘Yes or No’ when he accused her of cheating on him.
The 911 caller told the dispatcher that her 24-year-old boyfriend shot her 3-year-old son. The responding officers made contact with the suspect, who was taken into custody. Per reports, he kiIIed the 3-year-old child, by shooting him in the head from close range because the victim’s mother would not confess to being unfaithfuI.
First responders found the 3-year-old suffering from a fatal gunshot wound to the head. The handgun was found in the same room, police officials said. During an initial interview with investigators, the boy’s mom reportedly said that her boyfriend wanted to speak to her and accused her of cheating. Shortly after, the boyfriend reportedly asked the mother “Yes or No’.
The mother then started fearing for her life and went upstairs in her son’s room and locked the door. The 24-year-old boyfriend broke in, then exited the room and came back with a weapon. He pointed the gun at the child’s head and shot the little boy when his mom reached for the gun. The 24-year-old man then fled the scene. Sergio is being held without bond, court records say.
