According to the police officials, the young man, later identified as 23-year-old Connor, reportedly grabbed a knife and stabbed his 54-year-old mother to death after she decided to arrange for him to go for mental health care. The night before the fatal stabbing, the 23-year-old brother reportedly told his younger sister to ‘sleep face down tonight so that he can take her to heaven and keep her from going to hell.’
The responding officers discovered that the 23-year-old man stabbed his elderly mother after he discovered that she planned to arrange for him to go for mental health care because of his concerning behavior. While the 23-year-old son was stabbing his mom in the neck, his older sister called 911 and the other sister tried to stop the attack.
Prosecutors said that the night before the fatal stabbing, the 23-year-old son and brother reportedly made ‘statements about heaven and hell’ and even told his younger sister to sleep face down tonight so that he can take her to heaven and keep her from going to hell. That night, the family members slept in shifts because they were afraid Connor might attack them. The following day, Connor’s mom asked his older sister to call the mental health care facility. When the sister called, she called her mom screaming for help.
She attempted to disarm her brother, but was unsuccessful. The responding deputies discovered that Connor’s younger sister also sustained stab wounds after she attempted to disarm him. Per reports, the 23-year-old son still had the weapon in his possession and the responding deputies used taser to arrest him. The 54-year-old woman was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. Connor will appear in court on January 29, 2024.
