Governor Gianforte proclaimed November Adoption Month in Montana to celebrate adoption and support children in finding permanent, loving homes

Missoula, MT – According to the state officials, Gov. Gianforte proclaimed November Adoption Month in Montana:

WHEREAS, Montana’s future depends on the healthy development of our children and building strong, healthy families; and 

WHEREAS, Montana children in the foster care system need affection, security, and the stability of a permanent family; and 

WHEREAS, adoption places children into permanent homes where they have the opportunity to flourish, and enables parents to experience the unique joys of parenthood; and 

WHEREAS, while many children across Montana have gained a permanent family through adoption, there are still children in foster care in our state who need a home; and 

WHEREAS, Child and Family Services has taken important actions to encourage adoption and support families that choose to open their hearts and homes to children; and 

WHEREAS, individuals from all communities and organizations from the public and private sectors must join together to help find permanent homes for children in foster care;  

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Greg Gianforte, Governor of the State of Montana, do hereby proclaim November 2023
