Billings Senior girls, boys top Great Falls CMR in openers

GREAT FALLS — The Billings Senior girls held off a rally from Great Falls CMR to pick up a 40-37 road win to open the basketball season.

The Broncs led for virtually the entire game and held a 30-18 advantage entering the fourth quarter. But CMR opened the final frame on a 12-2 run to cut the lead to 32-30 mid-way through the quarter.

CMR had a chance to tie the game at the buzzer, but Kendal Stoll’s 3-point attempt was off the mark as time expired.

BOYS: Billings Senior 70, Great Falls CMR 67 (OT)

Billings Senior edged Great Falls CMR 70-67 in overtime for the Broncs’ first win of the season.

Trey Wasson led the Rustlers with 20 points, and Raef Newbrough added 14.
