Kaleb Fleck Changes Plea to Guilty in Deliberate Homicide Case

KALISPELL, Mont. — In a significant turn of events, 20-year-old Kaleb Fleck has changed his plea from not guilty to guilty of deliberate homicide after reaching a plea agreement this week. The plea comes in connection with the death of 60-year-old Scott Bryan, a homeless man who was assaulted in Kalispell in June 2023.

The incident took place near Appleway Drive and Meridian Road, where Kalispell law enforcement officers responded to a reported assault. Upon arrival, officers discovered Bryan suffering from severe injuries. He was immediately transported to Logan Health, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Fleck, along with another individual, was taken into custody following the assault. After months of legal proceedings, Fleck chose to change his plea to guilty in a decision that brings the case closer to resolution.

The change in plea was part of a plea deal reached earlier this week, sparing the court system a lengthy trial. Fleck’s sentencing is now set for March 31, 2025, where he will face the consequences of his actions.

The tragic death of Scott Bryan has left the community in shock, with many grappling with the loss of a man who was known to be homeless in the area. Local officials and residents are expected to closely watch the upcoming sentencing to learn the full extent of the legal repercussions Fleck will face for his involvement in Bryan’s death.
