Youth Summer Program at Moss Mansion

Billings, Montana – Applications are now being accepted for the organizations’ collaborative summer volunteer program by the Western Heritage Center and Moss Mansion.

The program, which is currently in its fourth year of operation, has won praise both nationally and locally for giving young people the chance to develop useful skills and learn more about an intriguing career path.

Youth entering grades 4–8 are eligible for the Summer Volunteer program, which starts in July. Selected students must commit to performing 10 hours of volunteer work over a period of 6–8 weeks, which will be organized specifically for each student.

While learning about typical museum tasks, helping with visitor duties, exhibit curation, and collections upkeep, participating children will work at both Moss Mansion and Western Heritage Center and receive hands-on mentoring.

Staff will also keep a close eye on the students.

The students will display an artifact from either museum at the program’s conclusion in a formal student exhibit at the Western Heritage Center.

Six young people will be allowed to participate, and applications must be received by June 2nd.

A quick interview with the students can also be required.

Youth are urged to apply for a chance to take part in the program by visiting the Moss Mansions website.
