Three men died in Interstate 90 accident

Laurel, Montana – An accident on Interstate 90 left three Laurel men killed.

The three men, aged 38, 40, and 44, were in a 2008 Chevrolet Suburban just after noon Monday when they stopped on the shoulder of the highway to check on an abandoned car near mile marker 448, according to the Montana Highway Patrol.

According to the patrol, the Suburban, driven by a 38-year-old guy, drove back onto the westbound lanes of the highway and did a U-turn. A tractor-trailer collided with the Suburban’s passenger side, causing both vehicles to veer off the road.

The tractor-driver trailer’s escaped injury.

The identities of the men killed in the accident have not been revealed.

Drugs and alcohol are considered factors in the crash, according to the patrol.

The accident shut down the westbound lanes as emergency services dealt with the situation.
