Polson, MT – A 17-year-old is expected to be charged in connection with the fatal shooting of 31-year-old Sheldon Fisher of Pablo, Montana, which occurred on Christmas morning in Polson. The shooting took place at approximately 3:30 a.m. on December 25, at a housing complex located at 1002 4th Street West.
Polson Police, along with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Flathead Tribal Police, and the Montana Highway Patrol, swiftly responded to the scene. Officers found Fisher, a resident of Pablo, had been fatally shot during a disturbance involving multiple individuals. Law enforcement’s quick action led to multiple arrests on the same day.
The suspect, a 17-year-old male, is expected to be formally charged by the Lake County Attorney’s Office later this week and is anticipated to be arraigned in court the following week. The investigation is still ongoing, and authorities have stated that no additional information will be released at this time.
Polson Police Chief George Simpson extended his condolences to Fisher’s family and praised the cooperative efforts of local and tribal law enforcement agencies in responding to the incident. He also acknowledged the dedication of officers and first responders, many of whom were away from their families during the holiday season to assist in the investigation.
“We deeply mourn this senseless act of violence, especially on a day meant for peace and togetherness,” Chief Simpson said. “The collaboration between all involved agencies has been invaluable in ensuring justice and safety for the community.”
