Speeding and impaired driving considered factors in the crash that left multiple people injured and one dead

Billings, Montana – According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the collision involving four vehicles on Wednesday evening resulted in the death of a 59-year-old Billings resident.

According to the highway patrol, the driver of a Dodge Ram pickup truck struck the rear end of a vehicle in a construction zone near mile marker 448 in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 90, causing a chain reaction crash that killed the man driving a Chevrolet Cavalier.

Several people were injured in the crash, including the 51-year-old driver of the pickup from Billings; a 44-year-old Billings woman and a 14-year-old passenger traveling in a Ford Expedition; and a 28-year-old woman from Crow Agency operating a Kenworth semi-trailer.

The 59-year-old Billings man driving the Chevrolet Cavalier was declared dead at the scene.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing and authorities believe speeding and impaired driving contributed to the accident.
