Lewis & Clark County, Montana – Planned Parenthood of Montana submitted an application for a temporary restraining order, but it was denied by a district court in Lewis & Clark County.
The injunction was issued with the intention of halting the implementation of house bill 721, which prohibited a routine abortion operation.
The legislation that is intended to prohibit dilation and evacuation procedures has been approved by both chambers of the legislature and is currently waiting for Governor Greg Gianforte’s signature to become law.
The judge said in their decision that there is now no law that can be enjoined because the measure has not yet been signed into law.
She did not grant the temporary order, stating that it was too soon to make such a request.
There is currently no information regarding the response that will be provided by Planned Parenthood of Montana; however, we have reached out to them for a comment and will continue to follow this issue.
