Pavement Preservation Project to Begin on Montana Highway 200 Near Garnet Range Road

MISSOULA, MT – Starting May 4, the Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) will kick off a pavement preservation project on Montana Highway 200, located near Garnet Range Road. The project, which will stretch for approximately four miles, aims to extend the lifespan of the roadway through various maintenance efforts.

The work will take place around mile marker 22.7, near Garnet Range Road, and will conclude just before Ninemile Prairie Road. Crews will focus on sealing the road, repainting road markings, and adding rumble strips to enhance safety.

The project is scheduled to last through June, and motorists should expect to encounter delays of 15 to 20 minutes, as well as reduced speed limits in the work zones. MDT advises drivers to plan accordingly and exercise caution while traveling through the affected area.

The goal of the project is to preserve the existing road surface and improve overall safety for travelers. With this initiative, MDT aims to ensure a smoother and safer driving experience for those using this section of Montana Highway 200 in the coming years.
