BUTTE, Mont. — Traffic in the Butte area came to a standstill on Monday evening as multiple accidents resulted in significant road closures and delays.
According to the Montana Department of Transportation, a crash occurred on Interstate 115, blocking all northbound lanes at mile marker 123. In response, traffic has been rerouted onto Iron Street, creating additional congestion in the area.
Further complicating the situation, a semitruck was reported to be blocking the northbound lanes of Interstate 15 near mile marker 132. Authorities are working to clear the scene, but the blockage is contributing to traffic backups.
Additionally, on Interstate 90, a crash at mile marker 237 has led to the closure of westbound lanes. The incident has further added to the ongoing traffic issues in the region.
Motorists are urged to avoid these routes if possible and to follow all detours and traffic guidance from local authorities. The Montana Department of Transportation continues to monitor the situation and provide updates as more information becomes available.
Travelers are encouraged to exercise caution and plan for extended delays throughout the evening.
