MHP seizes 25 pounds of methamphetamine in Yellowstone County

Boulder, Montana – Troopers from the Montana Highway Patrol (MHP) made a large drug bust in Yellowstone County, seizing around 25 pounds of methamphetamine.

Colonel Steven Lavin stated that on April 28th, an MHP trooper stopped an out-of-state car for a traffic violation.

When the trooper noticed signs of drug smuggling, he requested and was granted a search warrant for the vehicle.

The car was confiscated and examined, and roughly 25 pounds of methamphetamine were discovered.

The drugs were being transferred from southern California to an undisclosed destination, according to the investigation.

“The crisis at the southern border continues to impact Montana. More and more routine traffic stops are resulting in major drug busts. I’m proud of our Montana Highway Patrol troopers for utilizing their training and great instincts to get drugs off the streets and keep them out of Montana communities.” Col. Lavin said.
