Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Seeks Public’s Help in Locating Missing Animals

Jefferson County, MT – The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance in locating 14 animals that have gone missing from a ranch located at 248 Montana Highway 2 East, just outside Whitehall.

According to authorities, the missing animals include a white, black, and grey/red mule, as well as 11 horses of various breeds, such as paints, brown sorrels, grey, and bay horses. The animals were last seen on Thursday morning, and their disappearance has raised concerns among the ranch’s owners and local authorities.

The sheriff’s office is urging anyone who may have seen the animals or has any information about their whereabouts to come forward. In particular, individuals who are traveling along the highway or in the area are encouraged to report any sightings that could assist in the investigation.

The sheriff’s office has provided a non-emergency contact number for tips: 406-225-4075. Authorities are hopeful that with the community’s help, they can locate the animals and return them safely to the ranch.

As of now, there is no indication of foul play, but the case remains under investigation. The sheriff’s office continues to monitor the situation and follow up on any leads related to the missing animals.
