Gallatin County, Montana – The Gallatin City-County Health Department’s weekly meeting on Friday revealed some important information.
To begin with the good news, the health department has recently noticed an increase in residents who have been vaccinated. Gallatin County now has 56 percent of its residents fully immunized.
On the other hand, the transmission level across the county is in the red zone, or considered high, indicating a high rate of spread among residents.
And health experts advise that people who have never been vaccinated should do so immediately.
“Without a doubt, the Delta variant is the predominant variant not only in the country but in Gallatin County and Montana. So, it is here so we should take all the precautions that we can to protect ourselves from a variant that is highly transmissible,” Health Officer Lori Christenson says.
Other variants, such as Gamma, Epsilon, Eta, and Iota, have also been detected in Gallatin County, according to the Montana Department of Health and Human Services.
