GARFIELD COUNTY, Mont. — A 22-year-old man from Circle died in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Montana Highway 200 late Friday evening, April 18, 2025. The incident occurred around 10 p.m. near mile marker 183, approximately 28 miles southwest of Jordan.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol (MHP), the driver was traveling eastbound in a Subaru when, for reasons yet to be determined, he veered across the centerline. The driver reportedly over-corrected, causing the vehicle to skid sideways before it left the roadway. The Subaru then rolled multiple times off the right side of the highway.
The man was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been publicly released, pending notification of family. There were no other passengers in the vehicle.
The MHP reports that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Authorities believe that speed may have contributed to the incident, though they have ruled out impaired driving as a factor.
This tragedy serves as a reminder of the dangers of speeding and the critical importance of seatbelt use. The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
