Bozeman Police Recover $130,000 in Stolen Items, Seek Victims to File Reports

BOZEMAN, Mont. — The Bozeman Police Department has recovered 167 stolen items, valued at approximately $130,000, following a string of thefts that took place between September 2024 and early January 2025. The stolen goods, primarily tools and outdoor equipment, were taken from a variety of locations, including job sites, retail stores, storage units, and locked shipping containers.

According to police, the thefts were part of an ongoing series of incidents affecting local businesses and individuals. Law enforcement officials have so far identified 10 victims, though they suspect more individuals or businesses may have been impacted.

The stolen items include high-value tools and equipment, which are often used in construction, landscaping, and other outdoor trades. The Bozeman Police Department is encouraging anyone who suspects their property may have been stolen to file a report with their local law enforcement agency.

In a post on social media, the department urged the community to remain vigilant and report any missing items. “If you are missing tools or outdoor equipment that could have been stolen during this time period, please contact your local law enforcement agency as soon as possible,” the post stated.

The department has not disclosed further details about how the stolen items were recovered or if any suspects have been apprehended in connection with the thefts. Investigators are continuing to examine evidence and piece together information about the thefts.

As the investigation continues, police are asking for the public’s help in identifying additional victims or suspicious activity related to these thefts.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Bozeman Police Department or their local law enforcement agency to assist in the ongoing investigation.
