Billings, Montana – Thirsty Street Brewing revealed this week that this weekend would be the last for their taproom site in the city.
Thirsty Street owns a second facility at “The Garage,” which they acquired in 2020. They plan to centralize their operations there.
The proprietors claim that because of the garage’s larger brewing capacity, they would be able to expand and widen their distribution.
“The brewing capacity was there; it was a lot bigger, this was pretty tiny and we wanted to grow. The music venue was exciting to us… we love live music and want to support that… Basically having the two places got to be too much for us,” said owner, Jill Dawson.
They’re thrilled to bring live music to Billings since the garage is a fantastic location for it.
The taproom has been there for six years, but managing both sites proved to be a little too much. However, they are eager to devote their attention to the other place.
“We are excited to focus on the garage location,” Dawson said. “We moved the brewing operation there so all operations will be at the garage location and we are excited to make the garage have equally as good of vibes as the taproom does and hope to see all of our followers there.”
Dawson claims that there are initiatives in place to enhance the environment at the garage. and is appreciative of all the pleasant experiences she has had with customers over the past six years in the taproom.
“This location has so many good memories. We have the mug clubbers, live music here [at the taproom] multiple times, and just the customers and the staff and the vibe,” Dawson said.
She claims that business has been brisk over the past couple of days and that Saturday is the last day the taproom will be open.
