Billings police investigating Rims shooting as homicide

Billings police said Tuesday they are investigating the shooting death of a 19-year-old man on the Rims as a possible homicide.

Kane James Streitz was shot Thursday, Jan. 21 and died Monday, Jan. 25 of a single gunshot wound to the head, according to Yellowstone County Deputy Coroner Rich Hoffman.

Streitz’s father, Tracy Starr, wrote on Facebook last week that the shooting was a “freak accident” involving his son and a friend.

Police have made no arrest, and an investigation continues, according to Billings Police Lt. Brandon Wooley.
