Missoula, MT – A 17-year-old woman from Manhattan died Tuesday morning in a single-vehicle crash on West Cameron Bridge near Kimm Road. The incident occurred around 8:40 a.m. when the woman, driving a Nissan Xterra, lost control of her vehicle while traveling eastbound on Cameron Bridge.
According to authorities, the road was icy, and the driver lost control while navigating a curve. The vehicle crossed the center line and veered off the roadway, eventually overturning multiple times before coming to a stop in a drainage ditch.
First responders arrived on the scene shortly after the crash but were unable to save the young woman, who was pronounced dead at the site of the accident.
Authorities have confirmed that the woman was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, which may have contributed to the severity of the incident.
The crash remains under investigation, and officials are urging drivers to exercise caution as icy road conditions continue in the area.
