Axe throwing tournament hosted in Billings

Billings, Montana – World Axe Throwing League Mountain Regional Spring Tournament was underway at Öx Indoor Axe Throwing on Saturday in Billings.

“It’s a pretty big deal for us to be able to host this two years into our business-life here. It’s an honor to be selected for this,” Nick Richardson, owner and head coach at Öx said.

Richardson also said that this sport is for all ages, “It’s got a pretty quick learning curve once you find the groove and figure out how to throw the axes. It gets pretty easy pretty quick. It’s really for anybody. Our youngest competitor is 14 and the oldest that we’ve had in the venue is 94. We’ve had men and women of all ages come in and enjoy the sport. It’s been incredibly cool to see.”

27 axe throwers from Colorado, Utah, Idaho and Washington took place, including the Öx team of 11.

This was the first major tournament to happen in Billings.
