Missoula Fire Department celebrates firefighter for National Women’s Month

Missoula, MT – The Missoula Fire Department introduced Firefighter Kristen Hibala, who joined the department in 2024 after seven years of volunteer service. Her dedication, work ethic, and passion for helping others have made her a valued member of the team.

For National Women’s Month, FF Hibala shared insights into her fire service journey:

  • Inspiration: “Some things that I have always held close to me, have been to be fit, to be smart, and to be useful. Firefighting is the essence of this for me.”

  • Proudest moments: “Too many to count! It makes me happy to be a person who shows up when someone needs someone else to show up for them. Be that someone else for someone else!”

Her commitment and experience continue to strengthen the department and the community it serves.
