Missoula, MT – Missoula Police Department officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 100 block of Camelot Court that led to a barricaded situation involving a juvenile male.
During the initial investigation, officers received information indicating a reported partner or family member assault involving strangulation. When officers attempted to make contact, the juvenile refused to exit the residence, prompting the activation of the department’s SWAT Team.
Authorities used multiple tactics to resolve the situation, including announcements, drone support for situational awareness, and efforts by the Crisis Negotiation Team to gain voluntary compliance. After obtaining a search warrant, officers deployed a chemical agent into the residence, leading the individual to exit and be taken into custody.
Officials said no injuries were reported. The juvenile faces charges of partner or family member assault and obstructing a peace officer and was transported to the Missoula County Detention Facility.
The incident resulted in a significant law enforcement presence in the area for several hours, and police thanked the public for their patience during the response.
