Missoula, MT – The Missoula Rural Fire District (MRFD) has achieved Accredited Agency status from the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI), recognizing the department for meeting rigorous standards through a voluntary self-assessment and accreditation process.
MRFD is now one of more than 300 agencies worldwide to earn international accreditation and only the second fire and EMS agency in Montana, alongside the City of Bozeman Fire Department, to reach this milestone.
CFAI, in partnership with the Center for Public Safety Excellence, provides agencies with a framework for continuous improvement, evaluating service delivery and performance through internal review and peer verification.
Fire Chief Paul Finlay said the accreditation reflects MRFD’s dedication to delivering high-quality service to the community.
“We have also been able to use CFAI’s process as a proactive mechanism to plan for the future and identify areas where we can enhance the services we provide,” Finlay added.
