Brush Fire Contained Near Polson Homes

Missoula, MT — A brush fire that broke out on the east side of Polson on Tuesday afternoon was successfully contained before it could spread to nearby homes.

The City of Polson Fire Department responded to the emergency at 4:54 p.m. after receiving reports of a fire in the area of Ridgewater Drive. Firefighters arrived on scene to find the blaze burning uphill toward residences along Long Lake Drive.

Crews were able to halt the fire’s progress at three acres, preventing any damage to homes in the area. The quick response and efficient action of the firefighters kept the situation from escalating.

A total of 23 personnel, including firefighters from the Polson Rural Fire District, responded to the scene. The collaboration between the different fire departments ensured a swift and effective containment of the fire.

No injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation. Local authorities are urging residents to remain cautious as dry conditions persist in the region.

The Polson Fire Department expressed gratitude for the quick and coordinated response from all involved and reassured the public that the fire has been fully contained.
